Thank You, Poseidon! ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Renewed For Third Season

Fox has renewed Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a third season. Who better to express my gratitude than Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti)?

Thank you, Poseidon, Great God of the Sea!

The news was announced today at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. Brooklyn Nine-Nine moved to Sunday nights last year, which turned out to be a great decision because it had the “largest year-to-year demo gain (up 17 percent) of any sophomore series.”

Fox also renewed Empire, the new hip-hop/family drama by Lee Daniels starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, for a second season. Empire is Fox’s highest-rated new series of the season, so this renewal was a no-brainer for the network. It’s also the “only new broadcast drama this season to grow from week one to week two.”

Gotham will be getting a second season, as well. The series is Fox’s highest rated drama among Men 18-49.

Who knows what will happen with Sleepy Hollow. The second season has been suffering from a serious creative slump, which the ratings have reflected. But there’s hope!

But… I’m mainly excited for more Captain Holt in my life.
