Sia Tweets About Her Controversial “Elastic Heart” Music Video

Earlier today Sia released a music video for her single “Elastic Heart“, off of her excellent sixth album, 1000 Forms of Fear. The clip features 12-year-old Maddie Ziegler from Dance Moms (who has previously appeared in the music video for Sia’s “Chandelier” wearing the same signature Sia-style wig) and actor Shia LaBeouf locked in an intense and powerful interpretive dance.

More recently, Sia herself has taken to Twitter to address some concerns viewers had with the video’s content (mainly that a 12-year-old girl and a 28-year-old man were dancing in such close quarters wearing nude-colored clothing):

Personally, I really liked the music video, and though I’m not going to say I totally understood all of the video’s nuances, I did find it to be a very emotional watch. Maddie, in particular, was absolutely fantastic, though I was also surprised by Shia’s performance (especially the upper body strength it must take to make that climb up the cage about a minute into the video. Like damn.)
