Victoria Justice as Lindy is forced to deal with the kidnapping of her younger sister, Sara, and start online dating in this newly released 20-minute sneak peek of the first episode of Eye Candy, based on the novel by R. L. Stine.
I have to admit, I didn’t really expect to like this show, but even these first few minutes have proven me wrong. In this clip, we learn more about Lindy — from the loss of her sister 3 years prior to her job helping others find their lost loved ones in Manhattan via her tech and internet savvy mind. Her friend Sophia (Kiersey Clemons), in an effort to help Lindy get over her ex-boyfriend Ben, creates an online dating profile for Lindy. She meets several interesting guys through this, but one sticks out in particular. Someone who is just as good of a hacker as she is. Someone who is watching her every move. That someone is a serial killer, and she’s his target.
What I personally really liked about it was that we get to go into the mind of the serial killer and learn about why he does what he does. He kills the liars, specifically those who lie on their online dating profiles. “Why do they lie? They’ll pay. One by one.”
Eye Candy centers on tech genius Lindy, who is persuaded to begin online dating. When her friends at the elusive cyber-police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan, all signs point to one of Lindy’s dates. Lindy teams up with the hackers to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice on the streets of New York City.
Eye Candy premieres Monday, January 12th on MTV.
