Nicki Minaj’s third studio album, The Pinkprint, was released December 15, 2014. The Pinkprint Movie is a 16-minute short, or extended music video, made to accompany her new album.
Personally, I like The Pinkprint the best out of all her albums. It feels much more emotional and raw. “The Crying Game,” which features British singer Jessie Ware, is probably the best example of Nicki Minaj’s intensity shining through on the album. Also, I just really love “Anaconda”; it’s such a fun song.
Blatant product placement aside (the director makes it a point to show you she’s driving a Range Rover), and even though it’s not the most exciting video in the world, it does a pretty nice job of showcasing the emotional side of her album and what she’s trying to convey.
Although, I find a little bizarre that after she gets into a car accident (she’s in such emotional turmoil that she can’t keep her eyes on the road), a stranger picks her up and drives her back to his place for some sexy times, instead of taking her to a hospital. But that’s just me. I mean, what if she has a concussion or internal bleeding? Her only injury is a tiny cut on her forehead? Come on.
