The first trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service has come out, featuring Colin Firth impeccably dressed and working for a top secret, “independent international intelligence agency” with ridiculously awesome gadgets. Like a gold plated lighter hand grenade, and an umbrella that shoots stun pellets. I’ll take two of each, please.
Firth plays the role of a suave action hero who recruits a rebellious teenager to join the Kingsman Agents. Predictably, nearly everyone but Firth seems to scorn and underestimate the kid… golly gee willikers, I wonder if he’ll prove them all wrong, or something.
Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
The Secret Service looks like fun, I love a good spy movie, and with a cast like Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, and Mark Strong, and reported appearances by Elton John, Adele, and Lady Gaga, the film will surely draw audiences.
Kingsman: The Secret Service will be released on October 24, 2014.
