TBS Sitcom “Ground Floor” Renewed for Second Season

Quietly, without my notice (probably because The AV Club & Vulture didn’t bother to post about it – and how dare they), TBS renewed its original sitcom Ground Floor for a 10-episode second season last month.

Ground Floor, created by Bill Lawrence (Cougar Town) and Greg Malins (producer and writer for HIMYM), forged an ambitious ending for their first season, and so when the show comes back later this year, we’ll get to see just how Skylar Astin’s Brody is getting on after being fired from his job because he chose the girl (Briga Heelan’s Jenny), over the job.

TBS is making a concentrated effort to create original programming to run alongside their wildly popular Big Bang Theory re-runs, and so along with Ground Floor, Steve Carell’s Tribeca (starring Rashida Jones), and an unnamed Ashley Tisdale/George Wendt comedy pilot are also in the works for 2014.

Catch up on season one of Ground Floor with our recaps here.
