Check out what’s playing on TV tonight.

Premieres

The Red Road
“Arise My Love, Shake Off This Dream”
9 PM, SundanceTV

A neglected community’s agitation reaches a boiling point when a shocking tragedy upends the lives of all involved.

The Red Road, SundanceTV’s second foray into scripted television, debuts tonight at 9 PM. It stars Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones), Julianne Nicholson (August: Osage County), Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), and Martin Henderson (Devil’s Knot). It’s rare to see Native Americans get any significant amount of focus in contemporary media, discounting period pieces like The Lone Ranger, so The Red Road definitely offers something new and interesting. SundanceTV has a pretty good track record with Rectify and Jane Campion’s miniseries Top of the Lake, as well. This is one that you should definitely check out.
