The savage murders of three young children sparks a controversial trial of three teenagers accused of killing the kids as part of a satanic ritual.
Starring Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth, director Atom Egoyan’s Devil’s Knot is based on the story of the West Memphis Three. In 1994, Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley Jr., and Jason Baldwin were tried and convicted for the murder of three boys. They were eventually released from prison after it was ruled that they were, in fact, innocent. Witherspoon plays Pam Hobbs, mother to one of the victims.
Devil’s Knot premiered at TIFF and will be released in the U.S. next year.
