What To Watch Tonight: Wednesday, October 9th

tomorrow-people

Here’s what you should be checking out tonight.

Survivor: Blood vs. Water | 8PM on CBS

In this all-new episode of Survivor: Blood vs. Water, John has just been sent to Redemption Island – where his wife Candice has been for the past three episodes – after being voted out by his tribe in a huge blindside. Now husband and wife are pitted against each other and we’ll see who gets voted out for good and has no chance of coming back. Will it be John, Candice, or Marissa?

Meanwhile, Brad – former NFL player and husband of Monica Culpepper – seems to be ruffling a few feathers by overplaying his hand. He orchestrated John’s demise and, based on the preview for tonight’s episode, Candice is not happy with him.

The Tomorrow People | 9PM on The CW

Catch the series premiere of The Tomorrow People, the American adaptation of the popular British science fiction series which ran from 1973 to 1979. Much like Heroes and X-men, The Tomorrow People centers on a group of people with paranormal abilities like telekinesis, teleportation, and telepathic communication. It stars Robbie Amell, Peyton List, Luke Mitchell, Aaron Yoo, Mark Pellegrino, and Madeleine Mantock.

Expect lots of brooding, teen angst, and love triangles. (Unfortunately, based on the promotional posters for this show, the two minorities – Aaron Yoo and Madeleine Mantock – seemed to get shoved into the background, quite literally. I’ll be interested to see how their characters get treated on the show.)

American Horror Story: Coven | 10PM on FX

Perhaps one of the most anticipated season premieres of American Horror Story ever, Coven is set in New Orleans and focuses on witches, witchcraft, and voodoo. It stars Taissa Farmiga, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, and Evan Peters. Check out a teaser trailer here.
