W. Kamau Bell and Jay Smooth Discuss Kanye West and Homophobia in Hip-Hop

Jay Smooth, a radio DJ for New York’s WBAI and occasional music commentator for NPR, runs a video blog called ill doctrine where he does all kinds of social commentary ranging from “How To Tell Someone They Sound Racist” to “Why Is Every Hip-Hop Debate So Annoying”.

He’s even posted a video interview with independent hip-hop artist Brother Ali. Recently, Jay Smooth sat down with comedian W. Kamau Bell on FXX’s Totally Biased to discuss his love for Kanye West and why there aren’t any openly gay rappers in mainstream hip-hop.
