The story of former Hollywood star Grace Kelly’s crisis of marriage and identity, during a political dispute between Monaco’s Prince Rainier III and France’s Charles De Gaulle, and a looming French invasion of Monaco in the early 1960s.
Get ready for another biopic! We’ve already got Naomi Watts playing the late Princess Diana, Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, and Tom Hanks as Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers in Saving Mr. Banks.
Now we’ve got the first official trailer for Olivier Dahan’s Grace of Monaco, starring Nicole Kidman as actress turned princess – wife of Prince Rainier III of Monaco – Grace Kelly. There’s some dispute – as there usually is – over Kidman looking right for the part. In any case, with or without all the botox, Kidman is a fantastic actress and she’ll surely deliver a top-notch performance.
The film also stars Tim Roth as Prince Rainier III, Milo Ventimiglia as Grace Kelly’s publicist Rupert Allan, Paz Vega as opera singer Maria Callas, Parker Posey as Kelly’s lady-in-waiting Madge Tivey-Faucon, and Roger Ashton-Griffiths as Alfred Hitchcock, who directed Kelly in Dial M for Murder and Rear Window.
Grace of Monaco opens November 27, 2013 with a limited release.
