Boys Noize – “Don’t Believe The Hype”

Besides dance rock, a new electro-rave movement (or whatever anyone calls it anymore, these genre names are too many and too confusing sometimes) took over turntables everywhere thanks to artists such as Justice and MSTRKRFT. Another popular artist during that time was Boys Noize, a.k.a. Alexander Ridha.

“Don’t Believe The Hype” was originally released on his debut album Oi Oi Oi in 2007.

Hot Chip – “Ready For The Floor” (Soulwax Remix)

Hot Chip as a group is a bit difficult to define. They’re very skillful when it comes to hopping from dance to pop to indie to electronic styles and turning it all into one incredible dance party. “Ready For The Floor” was a huge hit on arrival thanks to a very bouncy bass line that turned the dancefloor into a bounce house of joy.

Soulwax’s remix takes the fun track and makes it more intense converting the bounce house of joy into a mosh pit of beats and samples.

Rocky Dawuni – “Download The Revolution”

Rocky Dawuni makes the cut for being a badass. Dawuni was born in a military barracks in Ghana, West Africa. It was there that he was exposed to Reggae music thanks to the military brass band Hot Barrels. He’s released five albums so far and was named as an ambassador to a UN Global Alliance Foundation last year. He also works as a social activist supporting Amnesty International and other non-profits.

“Download The Revolution” also marks his second appearance on a FIFA soundtrack. His song, “Wake The Town,” appeared on FIFA 2008.
