Janelle Monáe’s “Dance Apocalyptic” Music Video

Janelle Monáe switches up her style a little in her music video for “Dance Apocalyptic” off her new album The Electric Lady. In it, she sports long flowing hair and an all-white outfit as she sings, jumps, and dances her way through a worldwide apocalypse.

The tune is light-hearted and energetic with mild 1960s dance hall vibes, and the music video is a fun watch as everyone looks like they’re having a blast even as the world around is invaded by locusts, aliens, and the like. There’s even a shoutout to AMC’s The Walking Dead midway through with a news reporter yelling, “There are zombies in Atlanta!” Ha, cute.

The Electric Lady drops September 10, but you can (and totally should) pre-order it now on iTunes.
