“The Fall” will air on BBC Two and Netflix

Right on the heels of serial killer shows The Following and Hannibal, the psychological thriller The Fall centers around a female detective, DSI Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson), pursuing a serial killer in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Once Upon A Time‘s Jamie Dornan plays said serial killer, and among the supporting cast is Emmy winner Archie Panjabi and Game of Thrones actors Ian McElhinney and Michael McElhatton.

Anderson herself is set to appear in 3 episodes of Hannibal, starting with episode 7, which airs this coming Thursday.

The launch trailer doesn’t give away much, but it’s stylistically clever. I’m definitely interested in giving this one a go; it’s nice to have female-centric shows out there, the cast is excellent, and BBC Two has churned out some excellent programming lately.

The Fall premieres May 13 on BBC Two and all 5 episodes will stream on Netflix starting May 28.
